Varcum® 29101 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a one-step lump phenolic resin. Shows excellent compatibility with modifying agents. Permits the use of relatively high percentages of phenolic in phenolic-epoxy formulations. It is soluble in ketones, esters, butanol and higher alcohols. It has limited solubility in ethyl & isopropyl alcohol and aromatic hydrocarbons. Varcum® 29101 formulations provide improved chemical and heat resistance. Varcum® 29353 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a one-step liquid phenolic resin. Offers excellent grain adhesion properties and optimum bond strength. It is compatible with furfural. Provides optimum and uniform wetting of the abrasive grain and powdered resin components. Suitable for use in grinding wheel formulations. Varcum® 29353 is soluble in ketones, lower alcohols & esters and limited solubility in water. Varcum® 29358 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a higher viscosity, general purpose, one-step liquid phenolic resin. Soluble in ketones, lower alcohols & esters with limited solubility in water. Shows good compatibility with furfural. Provides optimum and uniform wetting of the abrasive grain and powdered resin components. Varcum® 29358 is designed to be used as a wetting agent for the production of abrasive mixes for grinding wheel manufacture. The higher non-volatile content of this resin reduces the problems of wheel distortion due to the evolution of volatiles during the baking cycle. Varcum® 94906 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a solvent-based, liquid one-step phenolic resin. Provides good wetting properties of abrasive grains. Recommended for wetting applications in abrasive mixes. Varcum® 94906 has a shelf life of 90 days at =40°F. Varcum® 29734 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a long flow, two-step, powdered phenolic resin containing hexamethylenetetramine. Provides resistance to the deteriorating effects of wheel coolants. Soluble in lower alcohols, ketones and esters. Offers excellent grinding action in light-duty and specialty-grinding applications. Varcum® 29734 is suitable for manufacture of centerless grinding wheels, cutoff wheels and wheel segments. Varcum® 29733 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a two-step, phenoxy modified, pulverized phenolic resin. Provides significantly higher bursting speeds leading to greater metal removal rates. Offers more durability and flexibility than wheels made with unmodified phenolic resins. Varcum® 29733 is recommended for the production of foundry snagging wheels. Varcum® 92600 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a fast curing, liquid one-step phenolic resin, dissolved in ethanol. It is a heat reactive, unmodified and durable grade. Provides outstanding resistance to almost all acids, abrasion, salt & fresh water, solvents, oils and other organic chemicals. Baked films of Varcum® 92600 can be plasticized sufficiently to enable them to withstand shocks or rough handling. Varcum® 29324 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a two-step, powdered phenolic resin. Provides quicker setting of the resin bond and reduces wheel processing difficulties. Soluble in lower alcohols, esters & ketones and not soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons. Varcum® 29324 is designed for use as a modifier for slow-curing resins used in the production of grinding wheels. Varcum® 29336 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a pulverized epoxy and phenolic resin combination, containing hexamine curing agents. Provides a softened grinding action, improved crack resistance and superior adhesion properties. Varcum® 29336 is designed for grinding wheels, glass fiber reinforced wheels and as a general purpose binder for bonded abrasives. Varcum® 29320 by Sumitomo Bakelite is a long-flow, two-step, powdered phenolic resin. Soluble in lower alcohols, esters & ketones and not soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons. Varcum® 29320 is designed for cutoff wheels, wheel segments and centerless grinding wheels where resistance to the deteriorating effects of wheel coolants is required.
