LAPEX R by LATI is an unfilled, transparent, black colored, amorphous polyphenylene Sulphone (PPSU) based compound reinforced with glass fiber. Has improved impact resistance made by the presence of diphenylic units, while at the same time notch sensitivity is lowered. Provides low smoke density, low toxicity index and very high dimensional stability. Possesses good mechanical properties, thermal properties, toughness and electrical insulation. Exhibits high hydrolysis-, creep- and sterilization cycles- resistance. Shows low flammability and poor smoke evolvement. Is suitable for processing by injection molding. Potential applications include automotive, precision mechanics, household appliances, electronics, medical equipment and biobased applications. LAPEX R complies with UL 94 V-0 flame rating.
