Eastalite™ Copolyester MP007F by Eastman is a foamed copolyester resin that is a sustainable alternative to high-impact polystyrene (HIPS). Is a styrene-, butadiene-, BPA-, Bisphenol S (BPS)-, PVC-, halogens- and ortho-phthalates free resin. Is suitable for processing by thermoforming and extrusion. Products made from Eastalite can be processed with minimal generation of particulates, angel hair and reduced risk of black specks. Provides greater tear strength, easy printability, color stability and EtO-, gamma-, e-beam- and gas plasma sterilization. Exhibits limited compatibility in the recycling stream, cleaner cutting than HIPS, easy processability, better hinge life, better flex strength, durability and less stress whitening than packaging molded from HIPS. Recommended for opaque lightweight articles like work-in-process trays, thermoformed pharmaceutical packaging, mounting cards and rigid packaging for medical devices or kits. Complies with ISO 10993 requirements for biocompatibility of medical devices. The grade was introduced in North America in February 2014 and in Europe in November 2014.
