OPPANOL® B 50 by BASF is a soft, mechanically stable, non-polar, anti-corrosive, high molecular weight polyisobutylene. Soluble in aliphatic, aromatic, cyclic and halogenated hydrocarbons. Offers long-term effective moisture protection. Exhibits low-temperature elasticity, no skin irritation, good adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces, flexibility at low temperatures and electrical insulation. Provides chemical inertness, good resistance to oxidative attack, water vapor barrier and tack (stickiness). Can be processed by kneaders, roll-mills and single- or twin-screw extruders. OPPANOL® B 50 is recommended for use in chewing gums applications. Meets the requirements of food contact regulations. Complies with REACH EC Regulation 1907/ 2006. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
