Based on 5200 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Thermoplastic polyester as a semi-crystalline material ranging from translucent to opaque with a natural white to off-white color. Key features include high mechanical strength and stiffness, excellent dimensional stability, good chemical resistance to hydrocarbons and oils, high temperature resistance, good electrical insulation properties, and excellent barrier properties against gases and moisture. Used in beverage packaging bottles, containers, automotive under-hood parts, exterior trim, electrical/electronic connectors, housings, industrial fibers and textiles.

Alternatives include polyamides, polycarbonates, and polyolefins. Current trends include bio-based versions, barrier grades, crystallization-modified grades. Major sub-types include Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), Polytrimethylene Terephthalate (PTT), Polyethylene Naphthalate (PEN), ad various glass-fiber modified, flame retardant, and glycol-modified copolyesters.
