Last update on Oct 29, 2025

Asahi Kasei's TENAC™-C ISCC PLUS certified grade polyacetal resin has been adopted as the main material for Takigen Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s (hereinafter "Takigen") bio-resin flat torque hinge (BP-150-Bio).

Sales of the “Bio-Resin Flat Torque Hinge (BP-150-Bio)” began on July 10, 2025, through TAKIGEN’s official online store and other channels in Japan.

Carbon footprint reduction of up to approximately 50%

TAKIGEN, a manufacturer of industrial and commercial hardware, is committed to developing products that help prevent global warming and environmental pollution. The Company encourages waste reduction, the conservation of finite resources, and the adoption of renewable energy sources.

The newly released Bio-Resin Flat Torque Hinge (BP-150-Bio) is an environmentally friendly torque hinge that uses TENAC™-C ISCC PLUS certified grade, a mass-balance polyacetal resin that is ISCC PLUS certified.

Designed with the same dimensions as the conventional “Flat Torque Hinge (BP-150),” the new hinge retains the same functionality, including the ability to hold doors or lids at any angle and adjust torque via a bolt. This allows for easy replacement without redesigning the housing.

Asahi Kasei's polyacetal resin, "TENAC™/TENAC™ -C ISCC PLUS certified grade," maintains performance equivalent to that of conventional petrochemical-derived polyacetal resins, including excellent friction and wear characteristics, strength and stiffness, and organic solvent resistance, while achieving a carbon footprint reduction of up to approximately 50%.
