Amcor to expand flexible packaging facility in China

Packaging engineers and formulators sourcing flexible packaging solutions across the Asia Pacific region can expect increased production capacity and stronger supply chain resilience. Amcor, a producer of responsible packaging solutions, has commenced an expansion project at its flexible packaging facility in Dongguan, China.
To strengthen supply chain resilience in South China
The project includes construction of a 7,000-square-meter manufacturing facility and an automated warehouse, expanding Amcor's existing Dongguan campus to more than 38,000 square meters. The expansion is set to increase production capacity and strengthen supply chain resilience in South China, a key industrial hub for the region. Construction is expected to be completed by July 2027.
According to Amcor, the expansion is designed around the principles of sustainability and intelligent manufacturing. It will feature automated solvent-free laminators, high-speed bag-making machines and automated bag arranging systems. Formulators and packaging engineers can expect these technologies to increase production capacity, improve operational efficiency and support the development of recycle-ready packaging solutions for food, home and personal care applications.
Supporting customers across the Asia Pacific region
Amcor has operated in China for more than 30 years and currently runs 23 manufacturing sites and two research and development centers across the country. The Dongguan expansion is set to further strengthen the company's manufacturing network, supporting customers across the Asia Pacific region.
