Dihydroeugenol by Van Aroma acts as a fragrance ingredient. It is somewhat fresher-sweeter smelling than eugenol and more floral. It is used in perfumery as a substitute for eugenol, in order to prevent possible discoloration. It is often used as a replacer or supplement to that oil where IFRA or other restrictions mean not enough can be used to get the desired effect. Dihydroeugenol finds application in formulating personal care products such as shower gels, shampoos and soaps. It has a shelf life of 24 months.
