Synthetic Fluorphlogopite (48-60%) & Titanium Dioxide (40-52%). Acts as a pigment. It is readily oriented into parallel layers because of its lamellar shape. Incident light is partially reflected and partially transmitted through the pigment. The transmitted light undergoes a similar phenomenon which results in multiple parallel reflections. Simultaneous reflection & refraction of the light from the many microscopic layers produce a kind of shimmery lustre, called ‘Pearl essence’. It is easy to disperse, non-reactive, non-flammable, non-toxic and an environmentally-friendly product. It is resistant to water, dilute acids, alkalis and organic solvents & suitable for water and solvent borne systems. Can be used for numerous cosmetics applications including lip sticks, lip gloss, eye brow pencils, eye liners, eye shadow, face foundation, shampoo, bathing soap, hand wash and hair styling gel.
