Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Wax & Paraffin. Ozokerite Wax acts as a consistency agent. It is made from blends of paraffin and microcrystalline waxes and when combined, it offers broader functionality than the constituent ingredients. Ozokerite Wax thickens lipid (oil) portion & helps keep emulsions from separating into their oil and liquid components. It increases viscosity and enhances gel strength in liquid and semi solid systems. Ozokerite Wax is a hard wax with a relatively high melt point. These characteristics encourage its use in stick products like lipsticks to promote structure, stick strength and lessen the brittleness. Ozokerite Wax also hold together the ingredients of a compressed cake. Ozokerite Wax is compatible with a wide variety of solvents, oils, fats, resins, petrolatum and other waxes. Used in various cosmetics and personal care applications.
