Carnauba Wax 263

Supplied byStrahl & Pitsch- Last Updated on Jul 10, 2024

Copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax. Carnauba Wax acts as a co-emulsifier, film-former and consistency agent. Carnauba Wax is derived from carnauba palm which flourishes in northeastern regions in Brazil. It helps to keep an emulsion from separating into its oil and liquid components, especially products that require a creamy consistency. Carnauba Wax increases the thickness of the lipid (oil) portion of solid and stick-like products giving them structure, allowing for a smooth application, and keeping them solid. It stiffens but does not harden the product and the flexibility and plasticity of the wax facilitates application. Carnauba Wax is compatible with most vegetable and mineral waxes and a large variety of natural and synthetic resins. Used in various cosmetics and personal care applications.
