Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax. Candelilla Wax DR-415 by Strahl & Pitsch acts as a film former, emulsifier and consistency agent. It is derived from plants. Candelilla Wax helps to keep an emulsion from separating into its oil and liquid components, especially products that require a creamy consistency. Candelilla Wax increases the thickness of the lipid (oil) portion of solid and stick-like products giving them structure, allowing for a smooth application, and keeping them solid. It stiffens but does not harden the product and the flexibility and plasticity of the wax facilitates application. Candelilla Wax DR-415 possesses a low coefficient of contraction & delivers good gloss. Used in various cosmetics and personal care applications.
