Dihydroxyacetone. Tanbest® DHA by Spec-Chem Industry acts as a self-tanning agent. It is a simple three carbon sugar derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane. It is used for gaining a natural tan-like appearance without sun exposure. It reacts with free amino groups of keratin in the corneum of the epidermis to achieve a dyeing effect, which is called the Maillard reaction, and the mechanism is similar to the natural sunlight tanning kinetics while without sun exposure, protecting your delicate skin from UVs. It provides significant and proved photo protection to UVA due to the cutaneous pigmentation induced by DHA. It is incorporated in skin care formulations for daily use to prepare or to prolong the suntan. It is used in formulating self-tanning and spray-tanning products. It is certified with COSMOS, RSPO, ECHA, AVA, Ecocert and Halal approved product. Tanbest® DHA has a shelf life of 1 years.
