BALANCE® 47

Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer. BALANCE® 47 (Old Name: LOVOCRYL-47) polymer by Nouryon acts as a film former. It is a hydrophobically modified acrylic polymer which has been specially designed to produce superior performance in low VOC aerosol and pump hair sprays containing water. Due to its unique composition and molecular weight distribution, BALANCE® 47 overcomes the effects of water over a broad range of hair spray VOC content. The polymer produces exceptionally low solution viscosity. As a result, very fine atomization is possible, even at elevated solids levels. Sprays have fine, misty spray patterns, rapid drying, and more uniform coating on the hair. Films of the polymer are hard, yet flexible, resulting in formulations that have excellent hold, yet feel more natural on the hair. It is used in hair spray, mousse and styling product.
