It is aluminium lake, produced by the adsorption of water soluble dye onto a substrate, rendering the color insoluble in water. It contains soft and fine particles to achieve consistency in shades. D&C Red 28 Al Lake finds application in formulating compact powders, blushes, mascaras, face & eye make-up, eye shadows, nail lacquers, nail paints, lip gloss, lipsticks and liquid make-up products.
