Micromica MK-100K by Nagase is a next-generation extender pigment. It is manufactured by reusing by-products generated during fertilizer production. As a result, it’s environmentally friendly. It has scale-like particles approximately 4 - 5 µm in size, and it can be used as a substitute for talc. Compared to natural talc, it is more intensely white with a higher level of transparency, so it maintains a beautiful and vivid appearance even when used with light-colored cosmetics. Talc generally cannot be added to lipsticks, but Micromica can be included in formulations as a matting agent. Since Micromica MK-100K is highly transparent, it can be added to a variety of skin care products without producing any noticeable whiteness. It can be blended into other skincare products to give them a distinctive silky texture. Another unique feature is that it has a lower concentration of heavy metals than natural talc. As the regulations for heavy metal concentrations in cosmetics become increasingly severe, this next-generation extender pigment is truly a one of a kind product for the industry.
