Arbutin by McKinley Resources acts as a skin lightening agent. It is a hydroquinone derivative isolated from the leaves of bearberry shrub, cranberry, blueberry, mushrooms and pears. It inhibits tyrosinase and prevents the formation of melanin. It reduces pigmentation and treats dark patches from sun exposure, freckles, liver spots and age spots. Arbutin is suitable for skin- and sun care formulations.
