Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K90)

Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K90) by Maian is a water-soluble polymer formed by chains of multiple vinylpyrrolidone. It exhibits newtonian viscosity in water due to its polymer structure, forming stronger intramolecular interactions within PVP chains than PVP-water hydrogen bonds. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K90) takes the form of a slightly flocculent powder when dry and can absorb up to 18% of its weight in moisture from the air. It provides excellent humidification properties in solution and readily forms films. It is used in hair gel, sunscreen, toothpaste, deodorant, lipstick, and shampoo applications.
