Cellulose Gum. Carbopol® BioSense polymer by Lubrizol acts as a rheology modifier and sensory enhancer. It is made from microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), a natural and biodegradable material sourced from certified forests. It imparts a rich, creamy and soft synthetic-like feel with absence of stickiness, stringiness, drag and peeling, improving the undesired sensorial of natural gums. It exhibits a strong sustainability profile and is a possible substitute for silicone elastomers.
  • It is capable of stabilizing O/W emulsions containing 5% to 25% oil phase and creates O/W emulsions over a wide pH range of 3-9.
  • It shows good compatibility with organic UV filters and low amounts of zinc oxide.
  • In synergy with different materials, it enables the creation of low to medium viscosity.
  • It is cold processable, easy to use, easily dispersible at various stages of the process, including post addition.
  • Carbopol® BioSense polymer is recommended for anti-aging products, antiperspirant/deodorant, body care, body lotions/creams/gels, eye area, facial care, hair removal, hand sanitizer, hand/foot-, sun care and wipes.
  • It has low carbon footprint and addresses the 12 principles of Green Chemistry.
  • It is readily biodegradable (OECD 301B), China compliant, Ecocert and COSMOS certified.
