Carbopol® 981 polymer

Supplied byLubrizol- Last Updated on Aug 15, 2020

Carbomer. Carbopol® 981 polymer by Lubrizol is a rheology modifier and suspending agent. It is a white powder, crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer that is polymerized in a toxicologically-preferred co-solvent system. It suspends, stabilizes and thickens to enhance the appearance of low viscosity personal care products. It offers excellent freeze-thaw and high temperature stability at low concentrations in oil-in-water emulsions. Moreover, it provides excellent clarity, long flow, low relative viscosity, high yield value, medium ion tolerance and low shear tolerance. Carbopol® 981 polymer is used in body lotions/creams/gels, conditioners, insect repellants, styling preparations and eye-, face-, hand-, foot- and sun care products.
