Carbomer. Carbopol® 2984 polymer by Lubrizol is a rheology modifier, thickener and suspending agent. It is a cross-linked polyacrylic acid polymer that is polymerized in a toxicologically-preferred cosolvent system. It exhibits short flow properties, light skin feel and creamy sensory profile. It provides excellent freeze-thaw and high temperature stability at low concentrations in oil-in-water emulsions. Carbopol® 2984 polymer is used in lotions, creams, facial-, hand/foot- and sun care products.
