A2 Millicapsules

Supplied byLubrizol- Last Updated on Mar 12, 2024

A2 Millicapsules by Lubrizol is an encapsulated system designed to encapsulate lipophilic actives into matricial spheres of Agar and Algin (hence A2), two natural marine polymers derived from seaweed. Thus, separation of the lipohilic components, enclosed in the millicapsules, from the aqueous phase outside, prevents reactions such as oxidation or degradation processes that could compromise the stability of the formulation. It enables the encapsulation of several cosmetic actives into gel and emulsion formulations without surfactants or secondary stabilizers, disruption of skin lipids or excessive transport of topical ingredients are also avoided. It is stable to high temperatures, wide range of pH conditions & resistant to the shear imposed during manufacturing. In this system, actives remain fresh and effective until released from the capsule with no ghosting after application and no residue left. This ingredient provides a pleasant feel when rubbed onto the skin. A2 Millicapsules is recommended for use in creams and lotions.
