3-Pheny-2-propen-1-ol. Kalama® Cinnamic Alcohol FCC by LANXESS (previously Emerald Kalama Chemical) is a fragrance ingredient. It is an aromatic alcohol that adds spicy oriental notes to soap and perfumes. It is produced synthetically, by the reduction of cinnamic alcohol. It is also used as a starting material for the synthesis of fragrance compounds, such as cinnamyl acetate, formate, propionate, and cinnamate. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
