Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride. Esaflor® EC 4 by Lamberti is a conditioner, detangler, viscosity modifier, thickener, foam booster and foam stabilizer. It is a self-hydrating cationic bio-based derivative of guar gum with medium cationic substitution. It is designed for cosmetics and personal care applications. The high molecular weight fully water soluble structure creates viscosity both in aqueous and surfactant based solutions.
  • It is compatible with most anionic and amphoteric surfactants.
  • It can be used in a wide variety of hair and skin care applications.
  • In shampoos and conditioners, it is suitable for 2-in-1 formulations, providing excellent detangling properties and enhancing hair feel.
  • The cationic charge of Esaflor® EC 4 interacts with keratin providing a conditioning effect on hair and skin and reducing the negative effects of soaps and surfactants.
  • In shaving gels and foams, it improves foam stability and enhances the lubrication of creams.
  • It requires no pH adjustment for its dissolution in water.
  • It is suitable for deposition of water-insoluble actives.
  • It is used in bath and shower products and other personal care products.
  • In cream rinses, it delivers effective conditioning and a silky afterfeel.
  • In liquid soaps and body washes, it imparts a soft, luxurious afterfeel to the skin.
  • It is available globally.
