Synthetic Carnauba. Synthetic Carnauba #124 by Koster Keunen acts as a wax & consistency factor, water resistant and barrier. It also acts as a film former, emollient, slip aid and gelling agent. It is a hard, high melting point ester wax very similar to the monoester fraction of carnauba. It has excellent oil-gelling and oil-binding capabilities. It is available in the form of pastilles and in off white to light brown color. Synthetic Carnauba #124 finds application in formulating creams, lotions, sunscreens, lipsticks, lip balm, mascaras and make-up products.
