Polyethylene and Stearoxy Dimethicone. Siliconyl Polyethylene #189 by Koster Keunen acts as a wax & consistency factor, thickener & stabilizer and gelling agent. It also acts as a viscosity modifier and melting point modifier. It is a mixture of polymers with unique formulating advantages. The starting point is a low melt point polyethylene to which silicone molecules are added. It is used to add hardness and slip. Siliconyl Polyethylene #189 finds application in formulating sun care, hair care, make-up, mascara, eye liner, lipsticks, lip balms, creams, lotions, stick pencils and antiperspirants.
