Cetyl Palmitate. Kester Wax K-48 #120 by Koster Keunen acts as a wax, thickener, emollient, gellant and opacifier. It is a long chain ester wax prepared by the esterification of fatty acids with fatty alcohols. It is a GMO-free grade. Offers excellent oil gelling and oil binding capabilities. Shows broad compatibility with lipids. It closely duplicates the properties of natural spermaceti wax. It provides lubricity, body and viscosity to cosmetic formulations. Kester Wax K-48 #120 finds application in formulating emulsions, anhydrous systems, creams, lotions, gels, lipsticks and antiperspirants. It can be used in both wash off and leave on applications. Complies with Kosher, NPA, Canada, Japan, China, Australia and REACH. It has a minimum shelf life of 2 years.
