Granpowder Z-35

Polymethylsilsesquioxane (and) Zinc Oxide. Granpowder Z-35 by Grant Industries is 35% solid dispersion of zinc oxide with polymethylsilsesquioxane. Provides UV protection for color cosmetics. In this product, the small zinc oxide particles are mainly absorbed onto the surface of relative large hydroxyl-terminated polymer particles (3 - 10 µm) through a dehydration mechanism by using a special process involving wet milling, drying and jet milling. Because it is finely dispersed among larger "balls", the zinc oxide does not have any scratchy feel on skin, but instead features a superb smooth feel and transparent appearance. Granpowder Z-35 is a very unique UV filter ingredient for color cosmetic applications such as press powder, lipstick, hot-pour foundation, etc. For aqueous sunscreen products, it is very convenient to use and provides an increased soft feel. The guideline for SPF value is about 1.5 - 2.0 SPF unit per 1% of zinc oxide. Also used in sun care, skin care, color cosmetic and hair care formulations.
