PEG-12 Dimethicone. MIRASIL™ PEG 12 DM by Elkem Silicones is an emollient and emulsifier for fragrances & essential oils or pigments. This water-soluble polyether modified polysiloxane is used as foam booster, second surfactant for sensitive product, plasticizing agent and wetting agent for personal care products. It improves foam of bath products, enhances silky skin feel and offers light conditioning effect. Also, improves wet & dry combing. This ingredient provides surface tension reduction and lubricity to hair & skin. MIRASIL™ PEG 12 DM is used in bath & shower products, hair treatments & hair styling products, shampoos & rinse-off conditioners and skin care products such as facial & body care products. Also, used in make-up removers, color cosmetics such as foundations, BB creams and shaving foams & gels. The shelf life of this ingredient is 24 months from its date of manufacturing.
