
Hectorite and Xanthan Gum. BENTONE HYDROCLAY™ 700 by Elementis is a 100% natural, non-animal origin rheological additive for aqueous cosmetics and toiletries. It is a cold processable, highly beneficiated, easily dispersible powdered blend of smectite clay and xanthan gum.
- It increases the viscosity of the aqueous phase and stabilizes viscosity on aging, at varying temperatures and under different shear conditions.
- It imparts thermostable rheology & excellent suspension control and reduces phase separation & syneresis.
- In comparison to pure clay, it provides slightly less thixotropic viscosity to the water phase of cosmetics.
- It exhibits broad pH- & electrolyte tolerance and offers light sensory & smooth silky feel to cosmetics & personal care products.
- BENTONE HYDROCLAY™ 700 finds application in formulating oil in water (O/W) & water in oil (W/O) emulsions, creams & lotions, antiperspirants & deodorants, color cosmetics, face packs, facial make-up and sun care products.
