BENTONE HYDROCLAY™ 2101

Hectorite. BENTONE HYDROCLAY™ 2101 by Elementis is a vegan, non-animal origin rheological additive for aqueous cosmetics and toiletries. It is a highly beneficiated, easily dispersible powdered smectite clay.

• It imparts thermostable thixotropic viscosity to the water phase of cosmetics.
• It is particularly effective as a means of improving suspension control without unduly increasing viscosity.
• It is recommended for oil in water emulsions, water in oil emulsions, creams, lotions, anti-perspirants, deodorants, color cosmetics, face packs, facial make-up and sun care- and hair care products.
• It is easily processed as a powder or pre-gel and increases the viscosity of the aqueous phase and stabilizes viscosity on aging, at varying temperatures and under different shear conditions.
• It provides excellent suspension control and reduces phase separation and syneresis.
• It is non-abrasive and offers smooth silky feel to cosmetics and personal care products.
