Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate (and) Disteardimonium Hectorite (and) Propylene Carbonate. Bentone Gel® NGD V by Elementis acts as a rheology modifier. It is a non-animal origin organically modified hectorite dispersion in neopentyl glycol diheptanoate. It is a non-abrasive and toxicologically safe ingredient that provides a smooth feel to the skin, masks greasy and tacky components, and imparts silkiness to the skin.
  • It provides predictable, reproducible, and thermostable viscosity control of the emulsion’s oil phase.
  • It can be used as an alternative to rheological additives containing cyclopentasiloxane, traditional polymers, and cellulose-based thickeners for stabilizing emulsions (W/O and O/W).
  • It is a very high viscosity, shear-thinning grade that exhibits excellent suspension of pigments and actives.
  • It offers controlled alignment of special-effect pigments and gives a high degree of formulating flexibility.
  • It is an optimally pre-activated and dispersed organoclay that can be incorporated with medium-shear mixing.
  • Its thermostable viscosity raises the apparent melting point and ensures cost-efficient use of UV filters.
  • Bentone Gel® NGD V is used in lip products, make-up products, creams, ointments, hair preparations, and sunscreens.
  • It is RSPO certified grade.
  • It has a shelf life of 2 years.
