Paraffinum Liquidum (and) Disteardimonium Hectorite (and) Propylene Carbonate. BENTONE GEL® MIO V by Elementis is a non-abrasive rheological additive for cosmetics and toiletries. It is a specially prepared, non-animal origin dispersion of an organically modified hectorite in cosmetic grade mineral oil. It provides rheological control and suspension to organic- and silicone-based cosmetics. It improves application properties and enhances skin-feel by masking greasy or tacky components. It imparts a pleasant residual silky & smooth feel to the skin. It offers predictable, reproducible & thermostable viscosity control, shear-thinning viscosity and excellent suspension of pigments & actives. It controls alignment of special-effect pigments, raises apparent melting point and ensures cost-efficient use of UV filters. It gives a high degree of formulating flexibility and can be used in cold process systems. It is used as an alternative to traditional polymer or cellulose-based thickeners for stabilizing emulsions [w/o and o/w]. BENTONE GEL® MIO V is used in emulsions, creams & lotions, eye- & facial make-up, lip products and hair & sun care formulations. It is approved under the RSPO mass balance system. The shelf life of this grade is 2 years.
