Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (and) Disteardimonium Hectorite (and) Propylene Carbonate. BENTONE GEL® LIP V by Elementis acts as a rheological additive for cosmetics and toiletries. It is a specially prepared dispersion of an organically modified hectorite in non-volatile hydrogenated polyisobutene. It provides rheological control and suspension properties to emulsion and anhydrous products. It offers thixotropic flow, thermostable viscosity control of the emulsion’s oil phase and improves application properties. It is a non-abrasive, non-animal origin grade which enhances aesthetics by masking greasy & tacky components, imparts a pleasant residual silky, smooth feel to the skin as well as cushion & slip to lip products. It offers predictable, reproducible & stable viscosity control, shear-thinning viscosity and excellent suspension of pigments and actives. It controls alignment of special-effect pigments and raises apparent melting point, ensuring cost-efficient use of UV filters. It gives a high degree of formulating flexibility and also provides emulsion stabilization [w/s]. BENTONE GEL® LIP V is used in creams & lotions, hair preparations, antiperspirants, ointment bases, lip products, make-up and sun care products. The shelf life of this grade is 2 years.
