Methylcellulose. Solterra™ Boost by Dow is a UV protection booster for inorganic sunscreen actives. It is derived from cellulose. It offers improved dispersion of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, reduced amount of oily, sticky, tacky, greasy and potentially irritating (inorganic\organic) feeling. It enables high SPF ratings with reduced formulation issues, minimizes the risk of skin whitening and improved skin feel. It is easy to use, water-dispersible powder shows minimal impact on product aesthetics and rheology. It is suitably added to the oil phase or the water phase. Solterra™ Boost is used in beach and sportswear sunscreens, daily wear moisturizers and sunscreens, color cosmetics, lip balms and other sun care applications.
