Dextran Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride. DEXCARE™ CD-1 Polymer by Dow is a non-GMO, renewable bio-derived polysaccharide which is a highly effective deposition aid for benefit agents such as silicones or natural oils. It is made from fermented sucrose and made without animal testing. It can be formulated into opaque and clear shampoos. It avoids silicone build-up on hair and enhances wet combing & dry combing with silicones and natural oils. It offers reduced friction and improved sensory benefits. It provides ease of processing and compatibility with a wide range of surfactants, and thickeners. It is hot or cold processable and is mainly used in shampoos, with and without sulfates. It boosts the conditioning effectiveness of shampoo using silicones or natural oils. It contains phenoxyethanol as a preservative. It is biodegradable, cost-effective and environment safe. It is used in haircare applications. DEXCARE™ CD-1 Polymer has a shelf life of 12 months.
