Brij™ S721

Steareth-21. Brij™ S721 by Croda is an emulsifier. It is a polyoxyethylene fatty ether derived from stearyl alcohols. Exhibits exceptional stability due to presence of an ether linkage in their structure and absence of an ester linkage eliminates any tendency for them to hydrolyze. It works well in combination with Brij™ S721 to produce stable oil-in-water emulsions.

• It can tolerate extreme levels of pH and high levels of electrolyte.
• It is a sustainable alternative for palm.
• It has a liquid crystalline structure with hydrolytic stability as water resistance increases when oleosomes are formed.
• Provides prolonged hydration and can be used to formulate emulsions from water thin milks to heavy creams.
• Offers flexibility to formulate different viscosities, including creams, milks and sprays.
• It is electrolyte tolerant and can incorporate mild foaming surfactants for foaming formulations.
• It is compatible with other non-ionic surfactants as well as anionic and cationic ingredients.
• It is suitable for cetostearyl alcohol emulsification.
• It can be used with a wide range of oils and in emulsions containing up to 25% ethanol.
• It can easily incorporate oil and water-soluble actives.
• Recommended for use in extreme pH formulations such as antiperspirant deodorants.
• It is also used in shaving, baby care, body care, facial care, sun care, pre- and after-shave lotions, coloring and makeup applications.
