Arlacel™ LC

Sorbitan Stearate (and) Sorbityl Laurate. Arlacel™ LC by Croda is a oil-in-water emulsifier. Offers emulsion stability with the formation of hydrosomes and can be used to control viscosity. It is compatible with organic and inorganic sunscreens. It creates liquid crystal structures with unique sensorial properties.

• It has a particular flow behavior in the emulsions, which imparts a unique and very pleasant light skin feel.
• Provides full freedom in choice of oil-phase such as emollients and oil-soluble actives, including pure silicone phases.
• Exhibits up to 40% internal phase O/W emulsions.
• Allows incorporation of ethanol as cooling agent, fragrance carrier or preservative.
• It also allows formulation of anhydrous polyol-emulsions and multiple W/O/W emulsions with Arlacel 1690.
• Provides increased water resistance due to low HLB system.
• Exhibits an intensive self-bodying effect.
• It maintains stability across a wide range of pH values which provides flexibility in formulating and expands potential applications.
• It is suitable for many skin, sun and hair care creams.
• Arlacel™ LC is recommended for light facial and body care, leave-in and rinse-off hair conditioning, hair styling, after-sun, make-up removers, sprays, body wipes and body butter products.
