2-Acetonaphthone. 2-Acetonaphthone by CD Formulation acts as a flavoring agent. It undergoes efficient photoreduction in the presence of tri-n-butylstannane as hydrogen donor. It is solubilized in air-saturated sodium dodecyl sulphate micelles in D2O or water by pulsed nitrogen laser photolysis for triplet sensitized production of singlet oxygen. 2-Acetonaphthone is recommended for use in cosmetic applications.
