LAPONITE® -XLG XR

Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate. LAPONITE® -XLG XR by BYK is a rheology additive based on synthetic phyllosilicate for aqueous systems to provide thixotropic stabilization in personal care applications. It is gamma irradiation sterilized version of LAPONITE®-XLG. Strong thixotropic gels are formed, if its concentration is more than 2% in water. It can be used in formulations with a pH value of 6.5 or lower.

• It also enhances the stability of emulsions and prevents the settling of particles, pigments and solid actives.
• It swells to clear and colorless colloidal dispersions in aqueous alcohol solutions to form a gel structure.
• It improves the skin feel and creates a light and non-sticky texture.
• It is compatible with solutions of up to 40% ethanol.
• It can be added to formulations containing >60% ethanol, when used with co- thickeners.
• It is vegan certified and complies with REACH, EINECS, TSCA, DSL, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI.
• It is suitable for sunscreen, depilatory creams, toothpastes, shower gels, shampoos, liquid makeup, eye makeup, creams and lotions.
• It is free of VOC, biocides, preservatives, CMR, dimethyl fumarate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releaser, PAH, phthalates, APEO and PFAS.
• The shelf life of the LAPONITE® -XLG XR is 48 months.
