Verdessence™ Glucomannan

Glucomannan. Verdessence™ Glucomannan by BASF acts as a texturizing polymer, thickener and rheology modifier. It is a polysaccharide consisting of the monosaccharides glucose and mannose. It is a non-GMO, preservative-free, cold processable ingredient with a good eco-toxicological profile. It exhibits electrolyte tolerance and stable thickening from pH 4 to 7. It is easy to handle with fast dissolution in hot and cold water. Offers soft & smooth haptics with cooling sensation. Verdessence™ Glucomannan is recommended for color care, after sun, styling, body cleansing, face- and hand care products. It is suitable for skin microbiome friendly formulations, aqueous systems (gels, fluids & serums) as well as novel formats (patches, jellies and peel-off formulations). It forms colorless, translucent gels with low peaking. It can be used in synergy with Verdessence™ Xanthan, enabling various elastic gel textures and film forming effects. It is COSMOS approved and is readily biodegradable (OECD).
