Basaline™

Malt extract. Basaline™ by BASF is a smoothing agent. It is a malt extract, modified through biotechnology, which increases dermal-epidermal cohesion. By specifically stimulating laminin synthesis, it effectively smoothens out creases at the skin surface. It reactivates the synthesis of laminin in an intelligent manner because it stimulates only those systems with a laminin deficit, a condition unique to mature skin. A reduction of laminin content will cause a separation of the two skin compartments followed by a slack and wrinkled superficial appearance. Basaline™ is used in skin care formulations.
