Phenethyl Benzoate. X-Tend™ 226 ester by Ashland Specialty Chemical acts as an emollient and solubilizer. Provides a high solubilizing capacity for solid organic sunscreen materials such as oxybenzone and avobenzone. It increases the critical wavelength and the UVA/ UVB ratio of some formulations. Offers excellent skin feel and can counteract the oily feel of UV filters. Improves the overall aesthetics of skin care and sun care formulas. X-Tend™ 226 ester is used in antiperspirants & deodorants, sun care, hair care, facial care and body care products.
