VP/VA Copolymer. PVP-VA E-735 by Ashland Specialty Chemical acts as a film forming agent. It forms transparent, flexible and oxygen permeable films which adhere to glass, plastic and metal. It offers strong & stiff hold, enhanced high humidity curl retention and good propellant compatibility. PVP-VA E-735 finds application in formulating hair care products like hairsprays, colorants, mousses, gels, styling lotions/creams and novelty stylers. It is a 50% solution of linear and random polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate (PVP/VA) copolymer in ethanol. It is produced by the free-radical polymerization of monomers in the ratio of 70/30 (VP/VA).
