optiphen™ plus preservative

Sorbic Acid (and) Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol. optiphen™ plus preservative by Ashland is a preservative. It is free of paraben, formaldehyde or halogens. It provides broad-spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast, fungi and mold.

• It offers excellent heat stability, work across a wide pH window and easy solubilization in water.
• Used in formulating hair care products (conditioners, gels, mousses, novel stylers, shampoos, styling lotions/creams), body care, color cosmetics, face and body washes, facial care and wipes.
• optiphen™ plus preservative is ideal for slightly acidic personal care products.
• It performs best in formulations below 6.0 pH, but is also proven effective at pH levels above 6.0.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.75% to 1.5%. It is designed for use in skin- & hair care rinse-off & leave-on applications.
