Benzyl Alcohol (and) Aqua (and) Sodium Benzoate (and) Potassium Sorbate. optiphen™ bsb-w preservative by Ashland Specialty Chemical acts as a preservative. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast and mold. Offers excellent heat stability, works across a wide pH window (up to pH 5.4) and is easily solubilized in water. It is EcoCert-, NaTrue-, COSMOS- and BDIH compliant. optiphen™ bsb-w preservative is used in hair care (conditioners, gels, mousses, novel stylers, shampoos, styling lotions/creams), skin care (body care, color cosmetics, face and body washes, facial care, and wipes) and sun care (after-sun, self-tanning, and sunscreen) applications. It is designed for use in hair- & skin care rinse-off & leave-on applications.
