Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch. RICE NS by Agrana is an aesthetic modifier & adsorber. It is a special starch (phosphate cross-linked starch) based on rice used for applications in cosmetics. It shows good opacity, adhesion & creaminess. Because of the non-swelling property of this grade the lumens of the pores do not wide, even after long-term application. It gives an impression of velvet skin to finish of powder or powder bases. RICE NS offers matting, similar to titanium dioxide. Due to its microcrystalline structure it is a natural soft glimmer and provides fluent change from powdered to un-powdered skin areas. RICE NS is a perfect powder ingredient for fine face powder, make-up as compact powder, complexion grounding, eyebrow, shadow & liner definers, powder pencils and loose powders due to its small particle size. It can be processed alone or as addition to powder bases. It is featured by excellent skin kindness and does not irritate mucosa. It possesses thermal conductivity and therefore cooling to skin. The shelf life of the product is 60 months under dry conditions (max. 70 % relative humidity). RICE NS can also be used in mascara, creams & lotions, self-tanning products and refreshing gels.
