VP/Hexadecene Copolymer. AakoFilm PA-16 by Aako is a film-forming and pigment-dispersing agent. It also acts as a suspending agent for sunscreen pigments such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. It shows long-lasting water repellency and rub resistance. It is able to boost the SPF of sunscreen formulations.
- It is liquid at room temperature and can be used in cold-process formulations.
- It is premixed with pigments or oil soluble UV-filters for easy incorporation.
- It is amphiphilic and will usually enhance the stability of emulsions.
- It may be necessary to adjust the level of traditional emulsifiers if adding AakoFilm PA-16 to an existing formulation.
- It is used in color cosmetics, skin-, hair care, sunscreen creams and lotions or anhydrous formulations.
- It has a shelf life of 24 months.
