Cosmetics & Personal Care Formulations with Solvents

This sunscreen lotion was designed to provide long-lasting UV protection. Both Polyurethane-2 (35% solids)and Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, were used to deliver optimal water-resistant properties. Avobenzone, the newly approved UVA absorber, was included in this formulation. PEG-33 and PEG-8 Dimethicone and PEG-14, a water soluble silicone, was added to improve skin feel and detackify.

This emulsion leaves a smooth, soft feel on the skin and can be applied in a spray form. Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, stabilizes the suspended talc. Dimethicone PEG-7 Isostearate,imparts a protective conditioning film and helps Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, in stabilizing the lotion.

A gentle make up remover wipe containing JOJOBA AQUA SOL to moisturize the skin, while acting as a mild, non-ionic surfactant. The product leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed.

This EO-free sprayable sunscreen lotion formulated with high levels of organic UV filters delivers a broad UV protection. Pemulen™ TR-2 Polymeric Emulsifier offers efficient and robust emulsion stabilization performance, providing a stable formula at very thin viscosity with low use level of polymer. Schercemol™ DIS Ester is an outstanding solvent for crystalline UV filters, and helps improve the spreadability of the lotion while reducing the greasiness imparted by the sunscreens.

Produces a clear, high foaming, low color, and low odor bath and shower gel. PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate is used to provide the body and viscosity seen in the formula, and PEG-60 Almond Glycerides is used to solubilize the fragrance and maintain the clarity of the product.

AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer is incorporated into a crystal clear, weightless styling foam. This product provides strong hold due to the high actives level of the fixative, yet has good properties on wet hair due to the inclusion of PEG-33 and PEG-8 Dimethicone and PEG-14. This styling foam leaves hair with a long lasting hold that remains soft to the touch and free of tack (on both wet and dry hair). In addition, this styling foam has excellent foam quality and foam cell size – created without the use of potentially irritating surfactants.

After Shave Balm – 'Sporty' with AGENAFLO 9050 contains:

• AGENAFLO 9050 which reduces tackiness and greasiness while giving skin a velvety appearance.
• Dow Corning HMW-2220 which imparts rich feel to skin care formulations.
• Sympatens PEG-400 which acts as a solubilizer and is suitable for skin care.

Providing the extra care and conditioning that hair can use after relaxing, this "Wrap Lotion" formulation is applied after the hair has been relaxed and neutralized. PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, is a naturally derived emulsifier. Cocodimonium Hydroxyethyl Cellulose is a quaternized cellulose used here as a conditioning agent. Both products help to plasticize the resin.

This clear, conditioning shampoo adds sheen while the foam's creaminess and volume stand-out. Rinse-out is facilitated in part by the Florasolvs PEG-150 Hydrogentated Jojoba.
