Non-ionic surfactants are ideal for sensitive skin since they lack an electrical charge and hence interact less aggressively with the skin's natural barrier and proteins. They are superb at creating and stabilizing emulsions that would otherwise separate.

Popular INCI ingredients in this segment include Polysorbates, Decyl Glucoside, and Lauryl Glucoside. Naturally derived sugar-based nonionic surfactants have gained popularity. These surfactants are generally well-tolerated, with minimal regulatory concerns.
